Hello, the Division’s next Call In Session is Thursday September 16th at 10:00 AM, an open/sharing session giving you the opportunity to join in and speak your mind.
And remember our next Division Call In is Thursday September 23rd, where our own Amy Amantea will be speaking. Amy is an artist, actor and advocate living with both a visible and invisible disability. Living with legal blindness for more than 15 years, Amy brings both lived experience to her work as well as a desire to see a growth in representation of disability in the Canadian artistic landscape. If people with disabilities don’t see themselves represented on our stages and big screens, we cannot begin to dream about our place in that world. Amy works as the Access Coordinator for the Arts Club Theatre Company, is the Community Outreach Coordinator for VocalEye Descriptive Arts Society and is a media personality with Accessible Media Inc, including her contributions to NOW with Dave Brown as the Movie Reviewer on a weekly basis, the BC Community Reporter and produces and hosts and original podcast called Accessing Art with Amy. Amy has recently work with the AMI TV bureau located in Vancouver on a TV show called ArtForm. These are 2 episodes that are a spin off of the successful podcast series. Both mediums feature folks at the intersection of art and disability and aim to provide a platform to showcase talents, increase representation, educate and entertain!
Looking forward to hearing you all soon. Thanks, Ann
